Balance in practicing daily habits
Some young people live their daily lives among a stream of daily habits;Which leave a heaviness in the heart if they pass without meaning: endless browsing, short clips that do not satisfy, staying up late that steals the dawn, and postponement steals dreams, and here the problem is not in these habits themselves, but in the absence of balance. Until it turns from a fleeting break into a way of life that swallows up hours and days, and in this the Lord Almighty says, warning His servants against these hours with which life’s opportunities are lost:O you who have believed, do not let your wealth or your children distract you from the remembrance of God. And whoever does that – those are the losers.*And spend from what We have provided for you before death approaches one of you and says, “My Lord, had you not delayed me for a short term so that I might give charity and be among those who The righteous*And God will not delay a soul when its time has come, and God is Aware of what you do.(Al-Munafiqun: 9-11), This is one of the positions of remorse and regret in the Book of God, for those who waste time in inappropriate ways.
Young people, in order to live our day without losing it, we must:
First:To realize the value of time before we search for its organization, God Almighty says:And the afternoon*Man is in loss﴾ [Al-Asr: 1, 2], and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “There are two blessings of which many people are neglected: health and free time.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari. The problem is not the lack of time, but rather the lack of awareness of its value. Because whoever realizes the value of something, uses it well.
secondly:Beware of small habits when you grow in secret. Five minutes here, and another hour there, all of them pass without us noticing, until the whole day becomes scattered, due to habits that seem “simple” to turn with repetition into a complete path of life. Al-Hasan Al-Basri is reported to have said: “O son of Adam, you are only days. Whenever a day goes, part of you goes.” Because every minute wasted is not just time that passes, but a part of your life that disappears.
Third:Balance is not deprivation, but rather an arrangement of life. Some young people think that the solution is to cut off all means of entertainment, so they start with enthusiasm, then quickly return more severely than before. Because the soul needs recreation, but to a certain extent. Balance means: to use the phone without it using you, to entertain yourself without running away from your responsibilities, and to rest without the rest turning into permanent laziness. Omar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, says: “I hate to see any of you idle, neither in the work of this world nor in the work of the hereafter.” Life is not pure entertainment, nor permanent seriousness, but rather a balanced mixture.
Fourth:Be sure to start the change. A man came to the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, asking for advice. He said to him: “Take advantage of five things before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your work, and your life before… “Your death”; True encouragement, these are not just words, but a life map for young people while they are in the stage of energy, and if it is not invested, it will be lost without compensation.
Fifth:Practical steps to achieve balance, including: Set a time for habits: do not leave them open without a limit, then start with the most important: your duties first, then entertainment is a reward, and then monitor yourself gently: do not be harsh, but do not be lenient, and replace every bad habit with a useful one, and finally always ask yourself: Is what I am doing now bringing me closer to my goal or taking me away?
O blessed young man, balance is the path to quiet success. Life is not for those who fill their day with noise, but for those who fill it with meaning. Successful people are not those who do not have habits, but rather those who invest in them. And remember that your day is your miniature picture, and the mirror of your future. If your day was wasted, your future is threatened, and if it is balanced, your future is reassured.
