Hadith:
On the authority of Abu Umamah Iyas bin Tha’labah Al-Ansari Al-Harithi, may God be pleased with him, he said: The companions of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, mentioned a day when he had the world, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: «“Don’t you hear? Don’t you hear? Absurdity is part of faith. Abundance is part of faith.”» The narrator said: It means barrenness.

the explanation
A group of the companions of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, spoke in this world, and the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to them: (Don’t you listen?) That is: listen and repeat for emphasis. Humility in dress and adornment is among the morals of people of faith, and faith is the motivation for it.
One of the benefits of talking
- It is desirable to change the conversation of the assembly if the speech is burdened with the enjoyments, desires, and embellishments of the world and prevents hearts from remembering God.
- Encouraging humility and belittling the worldly life because that inspires motivation to worship and obey.
- The hadith does not mean abandoning cleanliness, as Islam encourages it and it is one of the reasons for faith, so purity is half of faith.
