The meaning of “they hasten it and do not postpone it” is: they prefer the reward of the immediate: this world, over the reward of the future: the hereafter.
Hadith {Read the Qur’an} with all authentic narrations
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:
1- “Read the Qur’an, and seek it from God Almighty. Before a people come who will perform it like a judge, they will hasten it and not postpone it.“. [حسن، صحيح الجامع]
2- “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came out to us while we were reading the Qur’an, and among us were the Bedouins and the non-Arabs, and he said: Recite, for everything is good, and there will come people who will serve it as a mug is served. They will hasten it and not postpone it.“. [صحيح أبي داود والسلسلة الصحيحة]
3- «The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came out to us while we were reading the Qur’an, and among us were the Persian and the Bedouin. He said: So he listened and said: Recite, for everything is good, and there will come a people who will evaluate it just as a mug is served. They will hasten it and not postpone it.“. [صحيح، تخريج مسند أحمد لشعيب الأرناؤوط]
4- “The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, entered the mosque, and there were people in it reciting the Qur’an. He said: Recite the Qur’an, and seek God with it, before a people came who would perform it like a mug. They would hasten it and not postpone it.“. [ صحيح، تخريج مسند أحمد بن حنبل]
5- “Among you is the Book of God. The black, the red, and the white learn it. They learned it before a time comes when people will learn it but it will not go beyond their throats. They will straighten it as an arrow straightens, so they will hasten its reward and not postpone it.“. [حسن، تخريج المسند]
And the meaning of “«They rush it and do not postpone it» “That is: they prefer the reward of the immediate: this world, over the future: the hereafter.
