The pool of ages in the pool of times
First sermon
Praise be to God, the Appreciator of days and months, and the One who disposes of years and eternities. I bear witness that there is no god but God, alone, with no partner. He is Forgiving and Grateful. He knows the treachery of the eyes and what the breasts hide. I bear witness that our Master Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace. The Truth, Glory be to Him, sent him with guidance and light. O God, bless and bless our Master Muhammad, his family, his companions, and those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Resurrection and Resurrection.
Time is the true human capital, it is the time in which we live. If it is lost, our life is lost, and if its blessing is gone, the blessing of our life is gone. The blessing of time is that you do many works in a short time, and that God grants you accomplishments in an hour that no one else can accomplish in a day.
•O beloved ones, so that we may know the honor of this time in which we waste long hours; With the phone without a purpose, and with empty sessions that are not devoid of backbiting and gossiping, and talk about people’s honor, and it is sufficient to explain his virtue and greatness that God Almighty swore by him in his book, and God does not swear except with greatness! Rather, he swore by parts of time: by dawn, by noon, by night, by day, and by afternoon; God Almighty said in explaining profit and loss:And the afternoon*Man is in loss*Except those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.﴾ [Al-Asr: 1-3].
Whoever wants to work, worship, or give thanks needs time: at night, during the day, in the morning, in the evening, and the one who subjugates this time to you and blesses you in it is God alone:It is He who made the night and the day a succession for whoever wanted to be reminded or wanted to be thankful.(Al-Furqan: 62).
•Therefore, beloved ones in God, no one wastes this time except the oppressed, and no one is deprived of its blessing except the deprived. And look at the condition of many of our youth today: they have hours and hours of time, but what do they spend it on? Sleeping during the day, staying up late at night, watching movies and matches, but where is the prayer? Where is the Qur’an? Where is the mosque? Where is the pursuit of goodness? Where is the learning? Where is the benefit and benefit? You may not find any of that!
This is the true injustice, and this is the deceived ones that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, mentioned when he said: ((There are two blessings of which many people are deceived: health, and free time)); [Narrated by Al-Bukhari].
The poet was right when he said:
A person’s heartbeat says to him  Life is minutes and seconds So remember it for yourself after your death Dhikr is a second life for a person |
Young people, ask the elders: How did their times go? How did their youth disappear in the blink of an eye? Youth goes, health goes, and you will not feel the blessing of health unless illness surprises you! Wealth disappears. Ask someone who wasted his money in extravagance and extravagance, and did not know what money was entitled to, and all life disappears!
Noah, peace be upon him, was asked when he lived more than a thousand years: How did you find the life of this world? He said: “It’s like I walked in through a door and out through a door.”
The emptiness disappears. You may be occupied at any time, so that you hardly find time to pray your prayers.
The young man whom God has given strength, health, and free time can learn, worship, benefit, and benefit…and then waste this time? By God, this is a corruption, and it is greater than any corruption!
In this regard, the poet says:
Youth, emptiness, and novelty A person who corrupts someone |
More beautiful than all of that is the saying of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “Enjoy five things before five things: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, and your free time.” Before your work, and your life before your death)); [Narrated by Al-Hakim].
•One of the most beautiful inherited sayings is: “Time is like a sword. If you do not cut it, it will cut you.”
This is in normal time, so how come we are at the end of time in which the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, told us that the blessing of time will disappear?
Rather, he made the approach of time and the disappearance of the blessing of time, evidence of the imminent arrival of the Hour; On the authority of Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, that the Prophet may God’s prayers and peace be upon him said: ((The Hour will not come until time approaches, so a year will be like a month, and a month will be like a Friday, and a Friday will be like a day, and a day will be like an hour, and an hour will be like a kindling of fire)); [Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi].
And he said, “like a flame”: which is what a fire is kindled with.
This rapprochement – as scientists explain it – is either a sensory rapprochement that we feel, and this, by God, is what we feel. We no longer feel the days because of how quickly they pass, from Friday to Friday, as if it were a twenty-four-hour day, or a moral rapprochement, which is the disappearance of the blessing of time, and by God, the blessing of time has gone! What those before us used to accomplish in a day, we no longer accomplish in a week.
The greatest example of the blessing of his time is our Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Listen to what he accomplished in just half a day of obedience and worship.He was a role model for us and a tradition for us:
In his argument, may God bless him and grant him peace, on the Day of Sacrifice:
First:He stayed in Muzdalifah.
secondly:He prayed Fajr there.
Third:He stood at Mash’ar al-Haram for a long time until the sun rose.
Fourth:Head to Mina, walk about 6 km.
Fifth:He stoned Jamrat al-Aqaba.
Sixth:He slaughtered sixty-three camels with his honorable hand. For God’s sake, how long does it take to slaughter sixty-three camels?!
Seventh:He gave the barber his head and he shaved it.
Eighth:He stood as a teacher and mufti for the people, and people asked him and he answered.
Ninth:Heading home, he walked about 7 kilometers between Mina and the Haram.
Tenth:Tawaf al-Ifadah.
Eleventh:Drink Zamzam water.
twelfth:He returned to Mina, walked about 7 more kilometers, and prayed the noon prayer there.
So the total amount of what he walked on that blessed morning is about 20 kilometers. He did all of these actions between sunrise and the noon prayer!
If this is not the blessing at the time, where is the blessing? Knowing that there were no cars or buses in their days, yet they accomplished many times what we accomplish in this time! God is the Helper.
I say this, and I ask God for forgiveness for me and for you, so ask forgiveness from Him, for He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
The second sermon
Praise be to God, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of God, and upon his family and companions and those who follow him; As for what follows:
Oh, dear ones in God, the predecessors’ interest in time was amazing. Because they know its value; Al-Hasan Al-Basri, may God have mercy on him, said: “I have met people who were more careful about their time than you are about your dirhams and dinars.”
Ibn Ayyash, may God have mercy on him, used to say: “If one of you dropped a dirham, he would continue all day saying, ‘Indeed, to God, my dirham is gone!’ And he would spend his life, and he would not say, ‘My life is gone.’”
Indeed, one of the wondrous contemporary stories is the story of a young man who was studying at the university and spent two full hours on the bus every day while coming and going. He felt that this time was wasted and boring, so he decided to change his schedule and eliminate the routine and boredom, so he downloaded the recited Qur’an. During four years of university study, and only because of using these two hours a day on the bus, he was able to memorize the entire Holy Qur’an, so his routine daily trip turned from wasted time into a garden of paradise.
The story of the engineer and the 30-page challenge on the train:
This is a young software engineer. He was forced to take the train every day to reach his company’s headquarters on a 40-minute trip. He noticed that most of the passengers were spending their time browsing social media platforms to no avail. The young man committed himself to reading 30 pages a day on this train, whether in his field of specialization, or in general culture and history. The result, after only two years, was that he finished reading more than 160 books. This gave him a tremendous depth of knowledge that qualified him to establish his own company later, and to develop his administrative and technical skills in a way that surpassed all of his colleagues.
O Abdullah, by God, if you knew the value of the rest of your life, you would not waste a moment of it in disobedience. This time of yours is your life, it is your capital. If you preserve it, it will preserve you, and if you waste it, you waste yourself.
He who said:
Time is the very thing you set out to save I think it is the easiest thing for you to lose |
O you who wasted your life in disobedience, and you who wasted your days in heedlessness, return to your Lord and take advantage of what remains of your life.
May God bless us in our times, our lives, and our deeds.
Oh God, make us among those who live long and do good deeds.
Oh God, do not make us among those who are deceived in their health and leisure.
Oh God, help us to remember You, thank You, and worship You well.
Oh God, make the best of our lives the last ones, the best of our deeds the last ones, and the best of our days the day we meet you.
Oh God, reform the youth of Muslims, fill their times with your obedience, and their hearts with your love.
Oh God, make this summer a witness for us, not against us, and make our mosques beacons of guidance and factories of men.
May God’s blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and all his companions.
