Yes, I am the Holy Kaaba, the qibla to which Muslims pray everywhere, and to which they perform the Hajj every year in the months of Shawwal, Dhul-Qa’dah, and Dhul-Hijjah.
Ahmed El-Gohary Abdel-Gawad
Do you know me?
Have you seen me before?
to remember; I will show you a lot.
Did you remember me?
Yes, I am the Holy Kaaba, the qibla to which Muslims pray everywhere, and to which they perform the Hajj every year in the months of Shawwal, Dhul-Qa’dah, and Dhul-Hijjah.
Do you know how old I am?
I have been living for many years, more than thousands of years, since God created the earth, and all the prophets and their believers have made pilgrimage to me. Obedience to God Almighty and implementation of His command.
All of these years were times of happiness for me, except for some times when I was afflicted with sadness and worry, and I was overcome by grief, and this sad day that I am telling you about now is one of these times:
News has reached me that has worried me and put me in great distress. The news says:
An unjust king lives in the land of Abyssinia and it is said to him: “Abraha AshramHe has decided to come to the Arab countries, where Mecca is where I live, and a large army will come with him to demolish me, uproot my stones, and destroy my pillars.
The news reached me, and it frightened me greatly, so I kept counting the days, waiting for that day in fear, until that difficult day came when I received the news that that oppressive king and his large army had arrived at the outskirts of Mecca, and were about to enter it, and I began to look around to see what the people would do with him?
Will they confront him?
But I saw them in extreme terror and anxiety. They were rushing to the mountains to take shelter and hide in them. So that that army does not attack them, and its horses trample them with their hooves.
The roads around me were empty of all people. No one was passing anymore. There was no doubt that they had gotten closer; That’s why people fled from them.
The army was really large, and they had with them a huge elephant. They said: They brought it to destroy the Kaaba. This is how they talk about me, and they do not know that that huge elephant is a creation of God, glorifying His name, and cannot destroy me. Because I am also a greatest creation among God’s creation, and God Almighty did not permit him to destroy me.
That is why Abraha was ordering them to direct the elephant towards me. He would come to me and remove my stones, stone by stone, and throw them on the ground, and my atoms would disappear, and I would no longer exist. The elephant would not move or hear their words!
Oh God, what is this wonder?!
The elephant does not hear their words, does not turn towards me, and does not move a single step. They beat him to do what he did, but he did not obey, and they cauterized him with fire, but he did not respond!
It is strange that when they directed him to the direction of returning to his country, or to any direction other than my direction, he would get up and walk there quickly, but in my direction and my direction, no, he did not move towards me a single step!
The people kept watching the elephant and were confused about explaining its matter. They exhausted all their energy and tricks with it, but it did not produce any results. Until they despaired of it.
At this time, just as God wanted to protect me from this huge elephant, God protected all of Mecca from this army and from its oppressive and oppressive king who wanted to destroy me, so he sent many birds against them, which flew over their heads. Each bird had three pebbles. It held one in its beak and two between its legs. The bird would stand over a member of this army and throw a pebble at him, and he would die or be seriously injured. And so on until the entire army perished, and the unjust king fled back to his country wounded. He suffered serious injuries, then died shortly after his arrival.
Thus, God protected His Kaaba and destroyed His enemy. This day was a great day in the history of Mecca and the Arab countries. People called it after that proud elephant, so it was known as the Day of the Elephant, and the year it was in was known as the Year of the Elephant. God Almighty wished for the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, to be born. He said hello on this day, and after a period of time, people recognized his value and became certain that God had protected that country, and that the Kaaba was there for him.
Yes, Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, came to magnify my status, and to make people know that I am the qibla of God to which people make the Hajj and turn to it in every prayer. They must venerate me and protect me from everyone who wants harm from me, or seeks evil against me, and not flee from the face of oppressive aggressors. Ali, just as those who fled before his birth, may God bless him and grant him peace.
Concerning this story, God Almighty revealed a surah from the Holy Qur’an, which is Surah Al-Feel. God Almighty said: {Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant? Did He not cause their scheming to go astray? And sent upon them flocks of birds that pelted them with stones of * So He made them like edible chaff.} [الفيل: 1 – 5].
This is my story, my dear children.
We benefit from this beautiful story by:
• The Kaaba is the qibla to which Muslims pray and perform Hajj.
• Glorifying the Kaaba and protecting it from all attacks is the duty of every Muslim.
• The Kaaba was venerated by all the prophets and messengers, peace and blessings be upon them, and they made pilgrimage to it. Because their religion is all one, which is the religion of Islam.
