The Qur’an is the companion of youth in Ramadan
The Holy Qur’an is the strong rope of God. And by the Wise Remembrance and the Straight Path, whoever acts upon it will be rewarded, whoever rules by it will be just, and whoever calls to it will be guided to the Straight Path. God Almighty said: O people, there has come to you an admonition from your Lord, and a healing for what is in the breasts, and guidance and mercy for the believers. ﴾ [يونس: 57]The Holy Qur’an is not a book to decorate shelves, nor words to be recited at funerals or occasions. Rather, it is life for hearts, a light that illuminates minds, and a constitution that directs behavior.
Young man and girl, In Ramadan – when souls are clear and hearts are softened – young people return to find in the Qur’an a true friend, who talks to them without getting bored, guides them without interest, and comforts them for free. God Almighty said: The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. ﴾ [البقرة: 185]It is a blessed month that God honored with the revelation of the Qur’an, which revives hearts. Therefore, Gabriel, peace be upon him, used to study the Qur’an with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, every Ramadan, and in the year in which he died, he studied it twice, an indication of the greatness of the conclusion and the completion of the message.
Young people, Reading the Qur’an in Ramadan is not just a matter of recitation, but rather companionship, monologue, and self-examination. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said about his reading: “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of God will have a good deed for it, and a good deed is multiplied ten times as much. I do not say: Lam is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, and he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Read the Qur’an, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions.” Narrated by Muslim. Consider: an intercessor for his companions. That is, those who accompanied him and read him day and night, and he became to them like a friend who would never leave them.
Young man, Oh girl, if you knew how the Qur’an changed the lives of those before you, you would not have left your Qur’an for a single moment. Othman bin Affan, may God be pleased with him, would finish the Qur’an one night, and say: If our hearts were purified, they would not be satisfied with the words of God. And when Saeed bin Jubayr entered Ramadan, he would close his house from the people and say: I devote myself to reading the book of my Lord, and Al-Shafi’i used to complete sixty days in Ramadan. seal; To teach us that the Qur’an is not only a book of recitation, but rather a life companion. The predecessors, may God have mercy on them, did not read for blessing only, but to increase their closeness, knowledge, and fear of God. God Almighty said: The believers are only those who, when God is mentioned, are terrified in their hearts, and when His verses are recited to them, they increase in faith. ﴾ [الأنفال: 2].
O blessed young man, here are practical steps for the Holy Qur’an to become your friend:
* Make a steady response for you. Half a page a day is better than a break after enthusiasm. He, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The most beloved of deeds to God are those that are perpetual, even if they are few.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari.
* Link reading with intention. Do not read just for the sake of conclusion, but to increase your closeness to God and reassurance in your heart. Make it an encounter with God, not just a habit.
* Read with contemplation, not with haste. Stop at a verse that affected you, write it in your notebook, and apply its meaning to your day, and remember: ﴿ Do they not contemplate the Qur’an? ﴾ [النساء: 82].
* Seek help from a Qur’anic company. Form a small group for yourself to read together and compete in memorizing or contemplating. He, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “No people gathered in one of God’s houses, reciting the Book of God, and discussing it among themselves, except that tranquility descended upon them, mercy enveloped them, angels surrounded them, and God remembered them among those with Him.” Narrated by Muslim.
* Recite the Qur’an with your voice, and read aloud. Until you hear yourself and submit to humility, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “He is not among us who does not sing the Qur’an.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari.
* Connect the Qur’an to your daily life. Make every situation you go through have a verse that reminds you of God. If you feel sad, recite: For with hardship comes ease * Indeed, with hardship comes ease ﴾ [الشرح: 5، 6]And if you are happy, say: And whatever blessing you have is from God ﴾ [النحل: 53].
* Carry your Qur’an in your pocket or on your phone, and make a place and time for it in your day, not crowded out by a trivial application or a passing clip.
My blessed brother, Whoever accompanies the Qur’an will find in it a friend who will calm him down when his chest feels tight, a guide when his paths are uncertain, and a light when there is too much darkness around him. Ibn Masoud, may God be pleased with him, said: Whoever loves the Qur’an loves God, so what friendship is greater than being a friend of the Book of God? Therefore, make Ramadan the starting point, not the end, and start with the Qur’an from now, even with one verse, but make it a verse that changes something in you. Be among the people of the Qur’an about whom the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Indeed, there are people worthy of God among the people.” They said: O Messenger of God, who are they? He said: They are the people of the Qur’an. “God’s people and his special ones”; Narrated by Ibn Majah.
