The Qur’an is the greatest blessing
After the death of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, said to Omar: Go with us to Umm Ayman and we will visit her as the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did. He visited her, and when we reached her, she cried. They said to her: What makes you cry? What is with God is better for His Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. She said: I do not cry because I do not know that what is with God is better for His Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, but I cry because The revelation had come from heaven, so she moved them to weep, so they began to weep with her.
They cry because they know the value of the Qur’an and its impact on the reality of their lives, and in their future after their death. They cry because they learned from the Qur’an the difference between the life of light and darkness, life and death, misery and happiness. Before the revelation came down to the Messenger of God, humanity was in clear error. Before the revelation of the Qur’an, humanity was on the verge of a pit of fire. So God bestowed upon humanity the Great Qur’an. It is a spirit from God’s command, a light for the servants of God, a guidance for the righteous, a mercy for the worlds, good news for the Muslims, and a reminder for those of understanding.
﴿ This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for the righteous. ﴾ [البقرة: 2]،﴿ The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. ﴾ [البقرة: 185]،﴿ And We sent down to you the Book as an explanation of everything, and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims. ﴾ [النحل: 89]،﴿ A blessed Book which We have sent down to you, that they may contemplate its verses, and that those of understanding may remember. ﴾ [ص: 29]God sent down this book as a conclusion to the books, and made it a proof for creation. It is the greatest of signs and miracles, the greatest of what the prophets brought, and it is the nation’s protection from misguidance. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said in it: “I left among you two things after which you will never go astray: the Book of God and my Sunnah, and they will not separate until they return to me.” [رواه الحاكم وصححه الألباني].
Infallibility is achieved by having the Qur’an as our creation and our imam in our lives. Rather, we are a Qur’an that walks on the earth. We start from the Qur’an in our thoughts, behavior, desires, and all our dealings. The Qur’an is our constitution, as individuals and institutions, to live by the Qur’an and with the Qur’an. Because it is God’s message to us. The tragedies of Muslims are caused by abandoning the Qur’an in its true sense. It is not abandoning memorization and recitation, but rather abandoning acting on it. There is no salvation for the nation except by living with the Qur’an as long as life lasts. Oh God, return us to You in a beautiful way.
