Introduction:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the certainties that must reside in the heart and conscience of every Muslim is that the world is not a place of permanent happiness and comfort. It is one day in one way, and the other day is exactly the opposite, and the one who said it was true:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pious believer is the most knowledgeable person about the conditions of the world and how to deal with its troubles, guided by the guidance of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Nothing befalls a Muslim, whether fatigue, illness, worry, sadness, harm, or grief, even a thorn.” He will be in doubt about it, except that God will expiate some of his sins because of it.”[1]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ibn Uthaymeen, may God have mercy on him, said: “A person in this world cannot always remain happy. Rather, he has days of happiness and days of sadness, and one day something comes to him and one day it does not. He is afflicted with misfortunes in himself, misfortunes in his body, misfortunes in his society, and misfortunes in his family. The misfortunes that befall a person cannot be counted, but the believer’s affairs are all good. If an adversity befalls him, he is patient and is good.” And if something good befalls him, he is grateful, and it is good for him.”[2]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sayings of scholars in interpreting the verse in question<\/span><\/strong>:<\/h3>\n

Al-Qurtubi, may God have mercy on him, said: “The Almighty says:They only doubted my message<\/span>﴾: The reality of broadcasting in the language is the destructive things that come to a person that he is not prepared to hide; And he is the one whom I scattered: that is, I dispersed him, so the calamity is called a metaphorical spread.And I know better than God what you do not know<\/span>﴾; Qatada said: I know of God Almighty’s benevolence towards me that necessitates my good opinion of Him, and it was said: I know of answering the prayers of those in need what you do not know.[3]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ibn Ashour, may God have mercy on him, said: “A sentence”He said, “I only complain of my grief and sadness to God.”<\/span><\/strong>It is useful for him to limit his complaint to attachment to the name of God, that is, he complains to God and not to himself in order to renew his grief, so complaining with this intention becomes an act of supplication, and it is an act of worship. Because supplication is an act of worship, broadcasting means intense worry, which is thinking about an offensive thing, and sadness means regretting what was missed. Between the general worry and sadness and the specific face, they came together for Jacob, peace be upon him. Because he was interested in thinking about the fate of Joseph, peace be upon him, and the distress he encountered during his exile, and he was sorry for his separation, and he followed his words by saying:And I know better than God what you do not know<\/span><\/strong>﴾; To alert them to the inadequacy of their minds in realizing lofty goals. To know that they are inferior to teach him, or blame him; That is: I know knowledge from God that He taught me that you do not know, and it is the knowledge of prophecy, and in this is an exposition that rejects their accusation that he is hoping for the impossible that what they consider to be impossible will happen.”[4]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The educational features deduced from the verse in question:<\/span><\/h3>\n

First:<\/strong><\/span>The Sunnah of trial is one of the greatest Sunnahs that a person must understand and become familiar with. It is inherent to him throughout his life until his death, and its intensity and diversity differ from one person to another due to the great wisdom of God Almighty in managing the affairs of His creation. The verses and hadiths on this subject are very many. Among them: God Almighty said:You will be tested in your possessions and in your souls.<\/span>(Al Imran: 186),<\/strong>And God Almighty said:We will test you with evil and good as a test, and to Us you will be returned.<\/span>(Al-Anbiya’: 35), and Almighty God said:Who created death and life to test you as to which of you is best in deeds<\/span>(Al-Mulk: 2), and he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The people who are most severely tested are the prophets, then the best and then the best. A man will be tested according to his religion; if he is steadfast in his religion, he will become stronger.” His affliction, even if there is tenderness in his religion, he will be afflicted according to the extent of his religion, and the affliction will not stop with the servant until he leaves him walking on the earth with no sin upon him.”[5]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Second:<\/strong><\/span>Trials come in many types mentioned in the Holy Qur’an in the Almighty’s saying:We will certainly test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits. But give good tidings to those who are patient.<\/span>(Al-Baqarah: 155), and people differ in dealing with the types of affliction according to their faith, piety, and patience, and since the prophets and messengers, peace and blessings be upon them, were the people with the most faith, piety, patience, and steadfastness in their religion, because of the knowledge and understanding of His greatness, power, and wisdom that God Almighty has endowed them with, and their complete confidence in God Almighty’s sincerity in helping them and relieving them, no matter how severe the affliction becomes, along with what He has prepared for them. God will reward them with great reward, then after the prophets and messengers, may God’s prayers and peace be upon them, “the like and the like” will come. As stated in the hadith contained in:“first”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Third:<\/strong><\/span>Some expressions similar to the words of Jacob, peace be upon him, are repeated in the Holy Qur’an in the verse that is the subject of the article: ﴿And I know better than God what you do not know<\/span><\/strong>﴾, including: Noah’s position, peace be upon him, with his people; When the Holy Qur’an said:And I know better than God what you do not know<\/span>([Al-A’raf: 62], and likewise the position of Shuaib, peace be upon him, with his people when the Holy Qur’an narrated his saying:)And my success is only in God, in Him I trust and to Him I turn.<\/span>(Hud: 88), all of this shows that the knowledge of the prophets, peace be upon them, and their knowledge of God Almighty, is the source of their strength, certainty, and steadfastness, and the greatest guide and guide in their call to their people, which makes them certain of the truth of what they convey, even if that is hidden from the people.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fourth:<\/strong> <\/span>Among the effects of faith of the knowledge and knowledge of the prophets and messengers, may God’s prayers and peace be upon them, is what was mentioned in the Noble Qur’an and the purified Sunnah of the Prophet, mentioning their positions regarding steadfastness in the call to God, regardless of the circumstances and conditions, for example: A position of our Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, who said: Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, told me, he said: I was with the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in Cave, and I saw the traces of the polytheists. I said: O Messenger of God, if one of them were to raise his feet and see us, he said: “What do you think of two things, of whom God is the third?”[6]<\/a>; Ibn Rajab, may God have mercy on him, said: “This special association requires: victory, support, preservation, and assistance.”[7]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Likewise, Moses, peace be upon him, stood with Pharaoh and his people. ﴿When the two people saw each other, Moses’ companions said, “Indeed, we will overtake you.” (61) He said, “No, indeed, with me is my Lord. He will guide us.”<\/span>﴾ [Al-Shu’ara’: 61, 62], Al-Tabari, may God have mercy on him, said: “The Almighty’s saying: ﴾He said, “No, indeed, with me is my Lord who will guide me.”<\/span>﴾; That is, they will be guided to a path in which I will be saved from Pharaoh and his people.[8]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fifth:<\/strong><\/span>One of the important lessons in the verse that is the subject of the article is that the long night must end. Whoever is touched by distress or hardship, such as illness, debt, or the loss of a loved one, and the earth is narrow for him with all its spaciousness, let him trust in God the Great, the Powerful, the One who relieves worry and removes grief, that this will pass by the power and strength of God Almighty, for it has no remover other than God. God Almighty said:Indeed, with hardship comes ease (5) Indeed, with hardship comes ease.<\/span>﴾ [Explanation: 5, 6].<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Al-Saadi, may God have mercy on him, said: “And it is known from that that God tests His friends with hardship and prosperity, hardship and ease, to test their patience and gratitude, and thereby increase their faith, certainty and gratitude, and from that appears the virtue of piety and patience, and that all goodness in this world and the hereafter is from the effects of piety and patience, and that the outcome of their people is the best of consequences, according to His saying: ﴾Indeed, whoever fears and is patient, God will not waste the reward of the doers of good.<\/span>“[Yusuf: 90]”[9]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sixth:<\/strong><\/span>Since anxiety and sadness are a human nature that afflicts every human being, no matter how righteous and pious he is, even the prophets and messengers, peace and blessings be upon them, but he must be disciplined with patience and self-control, <\/strong>The Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, wept over his son Ibrahim, and he, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The eyes shed tears and the heart grieves, and we only say what pleases our Lord, and we are saddened by your separation, O Ibrahim.”[10]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Seventh:<\/strong> <\/span>Jacob’s complaint is in the verse that is the subject of the article:I only complain of my grief and my grief to God<\/span>Ibn Ashour, may God have mercy on him, said: “Complaining with this intention is an act of supplication, and it is an act of worship, because supplication is an act of worship.”[11]<\/a>. This is confirmed by his saying, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Supplication is worship.”[12]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Al-Qurtubi, may God have mercy on him, said: “The best way to speak about a complaint is to ask the Lord to remove the affliction, and that is what Ya’qub, peace be upon him, said:I only complain of my grief and my grief to God<\/span>﴾; That is: one whose work is beautiful, and whose kindness and kindness to his servants are strange. As for complaining without a doubt, it is foolishness, unless it is in the form of broadcasting and entertainment.[13]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Al-Saadi, may God have mercy on him, said: “His statement:I only complain of my grief and my grief to God<\/span>“Complaining to God does not contradict patience, but what contradicts it is complaining to created beings.”[14]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Prophet of God Almighty, Job, peace be upon him, called upon his Lord when harm befell him. The Holy Qur’an mentioned his supplication:And Job, when he called upon his Lord, “Indeed, adversity has befallen me, and You are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.”<\/span>(Al-Anbiya’: 83).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Eighth:<\/strong><\/span>Detailing the complaint to the creatures; Al-Qurtubi, may God have mercy on him, said: When God Almighty says:They said, O Mighty One, harm has befallen us and our people.<\/span>﴿ [Yusuf: 88], “They said: ﴾He touched us<\/span><\/strong>﴾; That is: it struck us.And our people are harmed<\/span><\/strong>﴾; That is: hunger and need, and this is evidence of the permissibility of complaining in the event of harm, i.e. hunger. Rather, it is obligatory for him, if he fears harm to himself from poverty or other things, to reveal his condition to someone from whom he hopes to benefit, just as it is obligatory for him to complain about his pain to the doctor so that he can treat it, and this is not an insult to him. Trust, and this is as long as the complaint is not a form of dissatisfaction, and patience and perseverance in calamities are better, and refraining from begging is better.”[15]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ibn Baz – may God have mercy on him – explained: “If the complaint is as a matter of advice and seeking advice, then there is nothing wrong with that. He complains about his concerns and needs to seek help from his opinion, and if he is forced and asks for help, then there is nothing wrong with that.”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ninth:<\/strong> <\/span>Belief in the greatness and power of God Almighty opens for the believer the doors of hope and good faith in God Almighty, so that despair and despair do not seep into his soul at all. Because he is certain of God Almighty’s relief when calamity befalls him, no matter how severe it is; Because despair is one of the characteristics of those who stray from God’s guidance. As God Almighty said:He said: And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except those who are astray?<\/span>) [Al-Hijr: 56], Al-Saadi, may God have mercy on him, said: “Whoever God has blessed with guidance and great knowledge, there is no way for him to despair, because he knows many things about the causes, means, and ways of God’s mercy.”[16]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Therefore, the confirmation came from Jacob, peace be upon him, to his sons:O my sons, go and feel for Joseph and his brother, and do not despair of the Spirit of God. No one despairs of the Spirit of God except the disbelieving people.<\/span>([Yusuf: 87].<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tenth:<\/strong> <\/span>In fulfilling his needs – the most minute and the greatest – the believer must seek help from God Almighty first, then be careful to take apparent material reasons, and exert all his effort in doing so. But in the event of a complete inability to achieve what is required, or ward off the harm, what should he do?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Al-Shaarawi – may God have mercy on him – said: “If the issue is dear to God’s creation, then the person must fear God in it, and for this reason, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he taught us that if a matter confronts him, he rises to prayer.”[17]<\/a>And his party is a matter that means that confronting this matter is beyond human reasons. So he resorts to the highest cause, and for this reason Jacob, peace be upon him, said:And Allah is the one who seeks help in what you describe<\/span>“[Yusuf: 18]”[18]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We have the greatest lessons in the story of Zechariah, peace be upon him, when he called upon God Almighty to ask for a child despite his old age and his wife being barren, so good news came to him from God Almighty:O Zachariah, we bring you good tidings of a boy whose name is Yahya, to whom We have not previously given a name by name.<\/span>(Maryam: 7), and the Holy Qur’an narrated on the authority of Zechariah, peace be upon him:He said, “My Lord, how can I have a son when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?” He said, “Thus God does what He wills.”<\/span>﴿ [Al Imran: 40], Ibn Katheer, may God have mercy on him, said: “﴿Likewise, God does whatever He wants<\/span>That is: Thus is the command of God, great, nothing is impossible for Him, and no matter is too great for Him.[19]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Eleventh:<\/strong><\/span>The importance of imitating the morals of the prophets, peace and blessings be upon them, in the strength of their faith and their certainty in God Almighty, and foremost among them is our Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. God Almighty said:Indeed you have in the Messenger of God a good example for him who hopes in God and the Last Day and remembers God often.<\/span>(Al-Ahzab: 21).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This cannot be achieved after the grace of God Almighty except by reading his fragrant biography, and the lessons and events it contains in all areas of life. To be a road map and a safety valve in the face of life’s difficulties and temptations.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Twelfth:<\/strong><\/span>A Muslim must take care to strengthen his faith, as it is a lifeboat in the stormy waves of life, and the saying is true:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ibn Baz, may God have mercy on him, mentioned a number of important reasons for strengthening faith, and a Muslim should pay attention to them and put them into practice.In the forefront:<\/span><\/p>\n

The first<\/strong>:<\/span>Meditate on the Holy Qur’an, take care to read it, and do it a lot. Because of the great stories in it about the afterlife, Paradise and Hell, the names and attributes of God, and the news of the Messengers, peace and blessings be upon them, and their nations, so whoever reflects on the Qur’an, his faith will be strengthened, and his religion will be sound.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Second:<\/strong> <\/span>Paying attention to the hadiths, the morals of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the morals of the Companions and good people, because he listens to the hadiths, hears the biography of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his deeds, and the deeds of the Companions, and their activity in good deeds, and their fear of God Almighty, so that he emulates them, emulates the good people, works like their deeds, and strives in that.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Third:<\/strong><\/span>To hold himself accountable, and remember that death comes suddenly. What did he do? What did he give for his afterlife? Until he prepares the kit before death attacks him; Holding oneself accountable and looking at what the servant has prepared for the afterlife is what strengthens his faith, what helps him to obey God and His Messenger, and what helps him to begin to repent to God from his bad deeds and shortcomings.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fourth:<\/strong><\/span>The company of good people, he accompanies them and sits with them, and he benefits from their morals and knowledge, and they remind him of the afterlife, and they help him in that.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fifth:<\/strong><\/span>Attending knowledge circles, he seeks them out, attends them, and benefits from them. He also listens when listening to sermons, Friday sermons, and other useful sermons, and from the Qur’an Radio. He listens to the Holy Qur’an, listens to sermons, and useful seminars, until he benefits from that, and until his heart is softened, and his faith is strengthened.<\/p>\n
