Between the earthquake of the threat and the good news of more
First sermon
Praise be to God, who has made Paradise a haven and security for His pious servants. I bear witness that there is no god but God alone, with no partner. He has made turning to Him a path and satisfaction. I bear witness that our master Muhammad, His servant and Messenger, was the most fearful of people before his Lord in the unseen and in public. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family and companions and those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Judgment. As for what follows:
O beloved believers,Contemplate with me – may God have mercy on me and you – on this amazing and breathtaking contrast in Surah (Q). Where the fateful history of man is decided between two “mores” without a third:
•Hell will roar more – God forbid – when it is said to it: Are you full? Then you say in anger and anger:Is there more?﴾ [Q: 30].
•And more that the Most Merciful bestows upon His saints, when their eyes are pleased to see His glorious face:We have more﴾ [Q: 35].
Between the earthquake of the first more and the safety of the second, the gate of divine mercy opens. When you are led to Paradise and brought closer to the people of piety in a scene overflowing with honor and hospitality:And Paradise has been brought near to the righteous, not far off.﴾ [Q: 31].
What a call that brings reassurance to souls! He announces that the time of hardship has passed, and that the honorable neighbor is just around the corner.
What a beautiful thing the poet said, longing for this position:
They are the people, so they raced until they achieved a goal ![]() They will be led to contentment, glory, and glory ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Oh Abdullah,O you who are tired of the hardships of the world, and whose struggle with the soul weighs heavy on you, turn your heart here! That hardship that you find at dawn, that thirst in the hot days, and those tears in the solitudes… all of them will dissolve in the first dip in the vast expanse.
If Paradise is being led for you and brought closer to you, will not the desire of kings stir in your heart to be among its inhabitants?
Dear friends,Paradise is not a common wish, but rather a reward reserved for the one who combines two glorious qualities:This is what you are promised; there is a protector for every returnee.﴾ [Q: 32].
•The one who repents: He often returns and repents whenever he is exposed to the poison of sins. He does not surrender to small or large sins, but rather hastens to ask for forgiveness without procrastination.
•Al-Hafiz: He is the vigilant guardian of God’s limits, who controls his limbs on the scales of Sharia law. The first repairs what is corrupted through repentance, and the second protects what is reformed through monitoring.
So make for yourselves – may God have mercy on you – a cache of good deeds. Such as rak’ahs in the middle of the night, or charity that extinguishes the wrath of the Lord, which no one knows except Him, along with constant prayer for God to make us and you among the people of this event.
May God bless you and me with the Great Qur’an, and benefit me and you with the verses and wise remembrance it contains. I say this and ask forgiveness from God for me and you.
The second sermon
Praise be to God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and may blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, who was sent as a mercy to the worlds, and upon all his family and companions. As for what follows:
O you who long for God’s pleasure,Worship reaches its peak when the name (the Most Merciful) is associated with (fear) in the station of the unseen: ﴿Whoever fears the Most Gracious in the unseen and comes with a repentant heart﴾ [Q: 33].
What an honorable position! The soul rises in it to fear God, not out of power, but out of shyness towards His mercy and benevolence when the creatures are out of sight.
That fear produces a repentant heart whose desires are broken, and which turns to its Lord with submission and love.
What a beautiful call in which all the sighs and pains of the world disappear when it is said to these hidden people:Enter it in peace, that is the day of eternity.﴾ [Q: 34]!
Here the bitterness of righteousness begins, and the comfort of eternity begins, and all the afflictions of this world are diminished when the soul knows that the meeting place is Paradise. As the poet said, describing the nature of the soul in its struggle:
And as the other said in shaking the longings of the hopeful:
Dear beloved ones,Raise the ceiling of your ambition, for there is only a few breaths between you and this eternity, with which the world will end.
God does not accept trivial matters for you, so do not be satisfied for yourselves without the highest statuses!
If men compete for mortal ruins, then you will compete for the highest paradise.
If the soul invites you to the comfort of this earthly world, remind it that true comfort is there… where there is no worry, no sadness, and no fatigue.
At the end of this sacred finality, borders fall and wishes are sublimated when the Most Merciful says:They have whatever they want, and We have more.﴾ [Q: 35].
Whatever came to the mind, they found it to be seen with the eye, without effort or deficiency. Then comes the climax for which hearts fly with longing: more… which is looking at the generous face of God.
It is also proven in the Sahih on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he said: “When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, God, Blessed and Most High, will say: Do you want something that I can give you more for? They say: Didn’t you make our faces white? Did you not admit us to Paradise and save us from Hell? He said: Then the veil will be removed, and they have not been given anything more beloved to them than looking at their Lord, the Mighty and Majestic. Then he recited this verse:For those who do good, goodness and more﴾ [Yunus: 26].
This great promise ignites in the heart the flame of longing to meet God, and brings about a psychological weaning in it from blind attachment to the mortal desires of the earth, certain that God’s treasures are full, so that he is not satisfied for himself except with the highest of stations, longing for his Lord to grant him the highest paradise and the pleasure of looking at His glorious face, always prioritizing His satisfaction over the soul’s immediate desires, hoping for this more.
Oh God, O Most Merciful, O Most Merciful, we ask You, with Your most beautiful names and Your exalted attributes, to make us among those who fear the Most Merciful in the unseen and come with a repentant heart.
Oh God, make us among the people of piety, repentance and protection.
Oh God, raise our concerns, elevate our status, grant us the highest paradise in Paradise, turn away from us every affliction, and honor us with the pleasure of looking at your noble face without harmful harm or misleading temptation.
Servants of God,Indeed, God commands justice, charity, and giving to relatives, and forbids indecency, abomination, and transgression. He exhorts you, so that you may remember.(An-Nahl: 90), So remember God the Great, He will remember you, and perform prayer.
