The ruling on someone who insults God Almighty and is he asked to repent?
Ishaq bin Rahawayh saidAs in “Al-Tamheed” (4/426): The scholars have unanimously agreed that whoever curses God Almighty, or curses the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, or rejects something that God has revealed, or kills a prophet of God, and despite that he acknowledges what God has revealed – that he is an unbeliever; Oh.
Ibn Hazm saidIn “Al-Muhalla” (11/411): As for cursing God Almighty, there is not a Muslim on the face of the earth who disagrees that it is mere blasphemy. Oh.
Judge Ayyad saidIn “Al-Shifa” (p. 832): There is no dispute that one of the Muslims who cursed God Almighty is an infidel whose blood is permissible; Oh.
Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah saidIn “Al-Sarim Al-Masloul” (p. 547): Whoever curses God Almighty, if he is a Muslim, must be killed by consensus. Because he is an apostate infidel, and worse than an infidel…
Then he saidOur companions and others differed regarding the acceptance of his repentance, meaning: Should he be asked to repent like an apostate, and be exempt from death if he shows repentance for that after being brought to the authority and the punishment imposed on him? OnTwo words:Then it is more likely that he will be asked to repent, and if he repents, otherwise he will be killed. This is a plural doctrine. Among them: Abu Hanifa, and the companions of Al-Shafi’i, and God knows best.
